Trauma Therapy in Texas
Does it feel like your life has been put on hold?
Maybe another relationship has failed due to the difficulty in trusting others, or perhaps you can’t sleep at night because of the nightmares. You may be avoiding loved ones or activities you used to enjoy, or simply can’t get the thoughts of your trauma out of your head. Perhaps you’re feeling guilty for what happened.
Whatever it is that you’re experiencing, you’re beginning to notice the impact of this in every facet of your life:
- Keeping away from places or people that might remind you of your trauma
- Difficulty with focusing on tasks at work or school
- Maybe even engaging in risky or destructive behavior.
Trauma therapy can help.

It may feel impossible now, but you can stop blaming yourself for what happened. You can sleep through the night without waking up in a cold sweat. You can learn to trust others again. And I can help you get there.
Trauma therapy helps you do three things:
- Identify and correct “stuck points” about why the trauma happened.
- Discover how your view of the world has changed as a result of your trauma
- Go back to living your life.
I’ll help through this process, tailoring each step to your unique needs and circumstances. My approach to trauma therapy comes from a place of education and discovery: helping you correct the thoughts that keep your trauma going, so you can move on.
You don’t have to live life feeling shame and trapped.
I can help you get there.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What are trauma therapy sessions like?
A: I use Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) to treat PTSD, which is a structured approach. At the beginning of each session, we’ll assess your PTSD and depression symptoms, then go over the topic for the session. We’ll explore your stuck points and work on learning how correct misconceptions and combat avoidance.
Q: How long do I need to be in therapy?
A: CPT is a 12-session protocol, with one or two follow up sessions. Clients typically demonstrate significant reduction in symptoms by Session 12.
Q: How do I know if trauma therapy will work for me?
A: For clients who can make it through most of the sessions, a vast majority will have much lower PTSD symptoms. However, research shows that about half of clients drop out of treatment before completing the treatment, so people who keep showing up and putting in the work are much more likely to be successful.
Q: How do we get started?
A: At our initial consultation, I’ll screen you to make sure your symptoms are a good fit for trauma therapy. We’ll talk through the commitment involved and answer any questions you may have.
